ISO 45001 Services

ISO 45001 is a new international Standard for occupational health and safety (OH&S), providing a framework for managing the prevention of death, work-related injury and ill health, with the intended outcome of improving and providing a safe and healthy workplace for workers and persons under an organization’s control.

The Standard is intended to help organizations, regardless of size or industry, in designing systems to proactively prevent injury and ill health. All of its requirements are designed to be integrated into an organization’s management processes.

It uses a simple plan-do-check-act (PDCA) model, which provides a framework for organizations to plan what they need to put in place in order to minimize the risk of harm. The measures shall address concerns that can lead to long-term health issues and absence from work, as well as those that give rise to accidents.

ISO 45001 enables an organization, through its OH&S management system, to integrate other aspects of health and safety, such as worker wellness/wellbeing. The Standard calls for the organization’s management and leadership to take responsibility for health and safety issues as part of the organization’s overall plan rather than shift responsibility to, for example, a safety manager.

Benefits

An ISO 45001 based OH&S management system will enable your organization to:

  1. Develop and implement an OH&S policy and OH&S objectives
  2. Determine the hazards and OH&S risks associated with its activities; seek to eliminate them, or putting in controls to minimize their potential effects
  3. Establish operational controls to manage its OH&S risks and its legal and other requirements
  4. Evaluate its OH&S performance and seeking to improve it, through taking appropriate actions
  5. Ensure workers take an active role in OH&S matters

Working in tandem, these measures will ensure that the organization’s reputation as a safe place to work will be promoted, and can have more direct benefits, such as:

  1. Reducing the overall costs of incidents
  2. Reducing downtime and the costs of disruption to operations
  3. Reducing the cost of insurance premiums
  4. Reducing absenteeism and employee turnover rates

OUR METHODOLOGY

Our Methodology follows the Deming Cycle – PLAN | DO | CHECK | ACT approach:

Plan – Establish the objectives and processes needed to deliver the results (in line with the OHSMS).

Do – Implement the needed processes of the OHSMS.

Check – Check the processes against the policy, objectives, targets, regulations, and report the results. (Auditing)

Act – Take actions that will continually improve the OHSMS.
